Great Location, Quirky Rooms - It was hit and miss

The best thing about this hotel is the location. Just steps from transit, cafes and restaurants, and an easy walk to lots of main tourist sites. Staff was friendly and accommodating, but be aware that they speak little English. The hotel is charming, but the quirky rooms are a bit challenging. They are small, and that's fine. I didn't even mind the bath/shower in the main room. But there was zero natural light. The only window in my room overlooked an interior corridor - so it was necessary to keep the curtains drawn all the time. The rest of the lighting was also terrible. No light near bathroom mirror, and the odd overhead light made it impossible to put on makeup (or my contact lenses) using the other mirror. It just felt like getting dressed in the dark.

Very disappointing experience, dirty room, bath not draining and no cot bed or bedding for my toddler

Very disappointed with my recent 2 night stay. Room was very dirty, dusty and with multiple stains on surfaces all around. The bath was not draining so taking a shower was challenge especially for my toddler, as he kept slipping in the bath filling with water. There was no cot bed set up in the room even though prior our arrival I emailed hotel to confirm that cot bed would be provided. We checked in at 5.30pm, reported reception the issues at around 6pm to be told that there was nothing they could do that day but it would be all sorted out the following day. Upon our return to hotel the following evening we discovered that there had been NO ROOM SERVICE, NO CLEAN TOWELS and still NO TODLER BED OR BEDDING and room still as dirty as the night before! I have emailed Tonic hotel Saint Germain two weeks ago and still no reply or apology. Very poor customer service!

Great location and room for a family

Our family of 4 stayed here for 3 nights. It is a great location and the staff are very friendly and helpful. It is hard to find rooms for 4 but they could accommodate. Rooms are small but that is to be expected in old buildings in Europe. It had such character and what we wanted. We could control the air conditioning in our room which was nice. The windows also opened and we could see the tip of the Eiffel tower to watch it sparkle at night. Breakfast is downstairs in a cave like area which is really cool and fresh squeezed orange juice and meats, fresh eggs and pastries. Only 5 minutes to a metro and many of the highlights you want to see in Paris are within walking distance. Some great restaurants only minutes away and a patisserie across the street. We really enjoyed our stay and would stay there again if/when we get back to Paris.

Fabulous location and a very pretty little hotel. Room on the small side, but perfectly adequate for the 4 nights we stayed here and cleaned daily. Staff on the whole, very friendly. My only complaint was that my booking included breakfast and this was paid for in advance. When we checked out, we were charged for this, even though I showed the staff member my booking which clearly stated breakfast WAS included. As it was an early morning checkout and we needed to get to the airport, I didn't have the time to take it further.

Positives: the location is amazing, double glazing, the features (wooden beams and vintage interior). Negatives: the room was very small, they didn't replace toilet paper or bath mat, the non-enclosed toilet, the safe didn't work (we asked them to change the batteries but it didn't happen)
